Bonnie: You’re good!
Clyde: I ain’t good. I’m the best!
Bonnie: And modest!
Arthur Penn’s “Bonnie and Clyde” is one of the first films of the New Hollywood movement. During this time cinema began to portray stories that were edgier and more realistic. For example, “Bonnie and Clyde” is one of the first truly violent movies of this era, displaying gore that would have been completely unthinkable ten or fifteen years earlier. Violence aside, this movie is full of great moments. And there is something so beautiful about watching Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway prance about robbing banks, falling in love, and meeting their end.
